A few weeks ago, I asked a group of women in the U.K. to name the most important women’s issue in their country.
I also asked them to name three of their biggest accomplishments in the last three years.
They all said the same thing: fighting for equality for women, fighting for gender equality, fighting against gender inequality.
So I had to do a little homework.
The results are here: I spoke to a group that includes academics, doctors, lawyers, and others who are all concerned with women’s rights.
In addition to talking to people in their professions, I also visited women’s shelters, soup kitchens, and other places to hear the stories of women who have faced discrimination and violence in their lives.
I asked women to nominate their biggest achievements and then asked each of them to list three of her biggest challenges: the rise of Islamophobia, the lack of representation of women, and the lack in representation of the disabled.
